Jimco Software Reviews - Ultimate S 2.1 (continued)
Editing Tools
The Editing Tools tab (see figure 2) is filled with powerful features to make using Vegas easier. From this tab, you can automate the selection of events, adjust transitions, take snapshots from the timeline, copy events, add stutter effects (similar to a Max Headroom effect), create L- and J-cuts, and automate fade ins and fade outs. Whew!
Figure 2 - The Editing Tools Tab
One of the most useful options on the Editing Tools tab is the image sequence option. From here, you can capture a sequence of images from the timeline and save them as either JPG images or PNG images. These images can then be used for DVD menus or any other purpose.
Markers
The Markers tab (figure 3) provides granular control over markers in Vegas. You can place markers, remove markers, and save markers from this tab. This feature is especially useful, for example, if you want to reuse a specific song in future projects. Just create some out markers and save them to a file. When you want to reuse the song, simply load those markers and go to work. Even more time saved by Ultimate S!

Figure 3 - Markers
Ultimate S can be configured to place markers at preset intervals, automatically at event boundaries, and can also split your events at pre-defined markers.
