Jimco Software Reviews - DVD Workshop 2.2 (continued)

The Audio tab (figure 6) contains simple controls for the audio track of your DVD. You can add multiple audio tracks including different audio tracks for different languages. The Surround Sound Emulation checkbox is only applicable when you have audio that was originally recorded in surround sound but was converted prior to importing into DVD Workshop.

DVD Workshop's subtitling features are robust. Using the Add/Edit Subtitles dialog shown in figure 7, it is simple to add subtitles to your video. You can easily add as many subtitle tracks as you wish and DVD Workshop provides the ability to configure the text properties so that they are visible on any type of background.

One of my favorite features in DVD Workshop is the ease with which it handles widescreen video. While editing a widescreen video, you can click the 16:9 button (at the right edge in figure 8) to switch the preview window into widescreen format. I found that editing widescreen video was much easier in DVD Workshop than in other packages that simply letterbox widescreen video footage. (More on widescreen support later in this review.)
