Jimco Software Reviews - SpiceMASTER 2.5 Pro (continued)
If you don't want to spend all of your time messing around with settings, SpiceMASTER can apply a preset effect easily. Figure 4 is a close-up of the Edge tab in SpiceMASTER. At the right of each setting group there is a light-bulb button. Click that button and you'll see a long list of pre-defined effects that you can apply at the click of your mouse. The Softness section alone has 30 different presets that you can apply. You can also use the preset as a starting point for your own creation.

More Cool Stuff
SpiceMASTER 2.5 adds a new feature that is unique to SpiceMASTER and is extraordinarily impressive; the Mixer feature. The Mixer is tucked away under the spice file preview as shown in figure 5. The Mixer feature alters the way that effects are applied based upon the luminance of the video or image to which it is being applied. It's an incredible thing to see.

Another feature of SpiceMASTER that is easily overlooked is SpiceMASTER's ability to affect any effect or transition in Vegas! Details on how to do this are well documented in SpiceMASTER, but the premise is that you can apply any plug-in from Vegas and then use SpiceMASTER to configure that plug-in. This makes the possibilities with SpiceMASTER almost endless.
