telerik r.a.d.menu 3.01
Introduction
A couple of months ago, we reviewed telerik's
r.a.d.editor. We were so blown away by the power of that
control that we decided we just had to have a look at the
r.a.d.menu. Our expectation was that it would live up to
the high standards that we experienced using the r.a.d.editor,
and we weren't disappointed. The r.a.d.menu is
feature-rich and powerful, and once again, it's equally easy to
use for programmers and non-programmers alike. In fact,
the menu you see on our pages was created with r.a.d.menu
literally without writing a single line of code!
Let's dig into this control, exactly what makes it so
powerful, and why you should put it at the top of your list if
you are considering implementing DHTML menus on your Web site.
Requirements
The r.a.d.menu control requires a server that is running
ASP.NET. There are no other explicit requirements.
In fact, as with other telerik controls, r.a.d.menu
doesn't even require programming experience. r.a.d.menu
has excellent CSS support as well. More about that later.
Just like telerik's
r.a.d.editor control, r.a.d.menu will likely be considered
expensive by most FrontPage developers. However, if you
consider the fact that you can use this control on any number of
domains for $249, it's quite a steal! If you're not
convinced, read on. You will be. By the end of this
review, you will agree that r.a.d.menu is a bargain.
