Jimco Software Reviews - Sonic DVDit 5.2 (continued)

Menu Tab

The Menu tab (shown in figure 5) configures the menu itself. You can configure the length of the movie (useful in cases where your menu includes background audio), the audio that plays while the menu is displayed, the end action for the menu (in cases where the menu is not an infinite still), and many more options. DVDit also allows you to configure up to three different color sets for your DVD to be used to indicate button status.

Title Tab

The Title tab (not pictured) displays the total playing time of the title and allows you to configure and end action for the title.

Links Tab

The Links tab (shown in figure 6) configures the link for a button or other object. In figure 6, the selected button is linked to chapter 1 of the movie. From this tab, you can also configure buttons as motion buttons by clicking the Animate Button checkbox.

DVDit allows you to configure button routing here as well. In other words, you can easily control how your menu interacts with the viewer and which buttons are selected in which order. If the automatic settings aren't sufficient, you can use the manual routing adjustment. Each of the dropdowns in figure 6 represents a directional arrow on the DVD remote. The numbers in these dropdowns represent buttons on the menu. Using this dialog, you can easily configure your menu exactly the way you want it. This is just one of many examples of the granular detail that you have when designing menus in DVDit.
