Camtasia Studio 3.0 is a great choice for delivering tutorials, training, and other screen presentations. The suite of applications that ship with Camtasia Studio make it a powerful tool for delivering presentations in almost any medium with high quality output.

Usability : 4/5
Camtasia Studio 3.0 is more usable than previous versions thanks to some nasty timeline bugs that seem to have been resolved in this version. However, the timeline remains a bit awkward. For example, if you have placed the play head at a specific point, that position is lost if you click anywhere on the timeline, even if you click at the point where the play head is positioned. Only clicking in the top margin of the timeline avoids this. This is the way that it's supposed to work, but it's far too easy to accidentally move the position of the play head without intending to.

The Camtasia Studio 3.0 interface is excellent, but the lack of the ability to nudge callouts drops it a point. As I indicated, TechSmith told me that they will be fixing this in a future patch. I greatly look forward to that!

Considering the power of Camtasia Studio, it's amazing to see that it's also intuitive. You can literally get almost all of the power from it without even cracking open the manual.

The addition of quizzing features and picture-in-picture round out an already attractive package.

Not only is the printed (online) documentation excellent, but the addition of Camtasia videos that walk you through doing certain tasks is a welcomed addition.

Camtasia Studio 3.0 is pricey, but it's well worth the price.

I debated taking a point off for the lack of nudgable callouts, but because TechSmith promised it will be corrected soon, I decided against it. The other features and capabilities of Camtasia Studio 3.0 certainly warrant a 5 overall and I can highly recommend this product without trepidation.
