Introduction
Today's astronomers, whether amateur or professional, have a dazzling array of sophisticated equipment from which to choose. In fact, an amateur astronomer can buy a nice scope with an electronic drive for close to $1,000. As the automation of your equipment increases, the need to plan your outings in advance increases proportionately. That's where astronomy software comes into play; it allows you to study the night sky during the day and determine where you want your focus to be when you hit the field.
Software Bisque's TheSky6 is as good as astronomy software gets. The views of the sky are gorgeous and the control is second to none. In this review, I'll look at just what makes this software your best choice for getting the most out of your observations.
Note: I reviewed the Professional version of TheSky6. Some of the features I describe are not available in all versions. Check with Software Bisque's Web site for information on which edition contains which features.
