Acronis Privacy Expert Suite 8
Privacy concerns are becoming more important as the Internet grows and as the methods of the bad guys continue to advance. If you aren't taking measures to protect yourself, you're making a huge mistake.
Protection from Spyware
Acronis Privacy Expert Suite (see figure 2) provides comprehensive protection from spyware. Spyware is software that gets "installed" onto your computer while you are browsing the Internet. It can be something that simply keeps track of Web sites you visit and then sends that information to a third-party or it can be something as destructive as a key logger that logs your passwords and credit card numbers and then sends that information off to the bad guys. Either way, this is stuff that you definitely want to detect and get rid of. Even if you only go to "safe" Web sites, you almost certainly have some spyware on your computer.

It also includes the ability to use both Peter Gutmann's method and Bruce Shneier's method for data destruction. All of these combined means that you can be 100% assured that data that is destroyed with Acronis Privacy Expert Suite is gone for good.
Why would you need such capabilities? One of the major reasons for needing a reliable method of data destruction is the transfer of computer equipment. When I get rid of an unneeded machine, I will often donate it to my church or to the school that my children attend. My hard drives have a lot of sensitive information on them, and even if you use FDisk or another partitioning tool to wipe a partition, the data can still be recovered. Acronis Privacy Expert Suite provides me with complete confidence that no one will be able to recover my sensitive data in cases where I am giving an old computer or hard drive away.
